MANY of us will be missing sporting events, so the Daily Echo takes a look at pictures from a 10k of the past.

Hundreds of runners took to the streets of Totton on October 28, 1990 to help raise cash for local charities.

The ten kilometre road race was the fourth organised by Totton and Eling Lions in conjunction with Totton Running Club.

Some 492 people completed the six-mile course around the town, and all but a few stragglers crossed the finishing line at Totton Civic Centre before it started to rain.

The number of competitors was up from the previous year and around £1,000 was raised for local charities and groups.
