A CARE home agency has donated enough food to Abbotswood Court Care Home to make 100 hampers for people living alone or are isolated.

The care home in Minchin Road was contacted by managing director of Right at Home Mid Hampshire, Nick Turner, who gave enough produce for an extra 50 hampers to be sent to people in need of a pick-me-up.

Since November, Abbotswood Court Care Home has been offering a hamper a day to anyone wanting to nominate a friend, family member or someone they know or care for who might need a treat.

Home admissions advisor for the care home, Annya Sait, said: "Throughout the year Abbotswood Court enjoy being able to host many events and coffee mornings for the local community, but this year due to COVID we have been unable to do so.

"Our residents, who have everything they need, recognise that there are many people who are on their own and for whom these hampers will be a lovely treat. It's very rewarding for us to be able to do this.

"We thank Nick for his generous donation and we are so pleased to have found a way to still reach out to people in these difficult times."

To apply for a hamper full of goodies, comment on the relevant post on the Abbotswood Court Care Home Facebook page.

There will be two names drawn from a hat each day.
