A MAN has been arrested in Basingstoke on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply.

The 36-year-old from Bow, East London, has been arrested after police stopped a vehicle in Worting Road, Basingstoke.

He was also arrested on suspicion of possessing criminal property.

The vehicle was stopped in Worting Road at around 8.20pm on November 27.

A large wrap of a substance suspected to be Class A drugs and a quantity of cash were seized.

The man has been released under investigation while police enquiries continue.

It comes after police arrested two men from London near Basingstoke train station the previous day, also on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply.

A search of the pair found suspected crack cocaine and heroin, as well as a quantity of cash.

They have also been released under investigation while enquires are ongoing.
