A NEW community car park has officially been opened in Whittington.

The car park, situated at the Three Trees junction was opened by Shropshire Councillor Steve Charmley, alongside developer Jeremy Shingler and site manager Tim Richmond.

Funding for the car park was provided by Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) contributions, generated by the Castle Keep development.

Mr Charmley is happy to see the community now has access to the car park.

He said: “ I am delighted to finally be able to open this car park after many years of planning.

“I hope that it will help ease the congestion in the area at peak times.

“I would like to thank Shingler developments for doing such great job, this has really improved the entrance to the village and promises to be a great asset for the village to use.”
