UPDATE 6PM: The car has now been cleared. Traffic is easing.
A CAR has burst into flames on a Hampshire motorway this evening.
Delays are building on the M3 northbound as one lane between junction 12 near Chandler's Ford and junction 11 near Winchester is blocked due to a vehicle fire.
Emergency services have been called to the scene.

Hampshire Fire Control have confirmed that have had more than 30 calls to a car fire on the M3.
They said that the incident with "no doubt cause some traffic issues for rush hour" and are urging motorists to avoid the area if they can.
A spokesperson from Hampshire Police said: "We were called at 4.14pm today, 2 December, to reports of a car on fire on the northbound M3 just before junction 11.
"Officers have attended to assist Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service and Highways England."
