Romsey Town FC are playing their part in the vaccination rollout by providing free parking to NHS staff and volunteers administering the Covid jab.

The football club received a request for help from GP practices in Romsey and North Baddesley who started vaccinating those in the highest priority group in December.

Test Valley Borough Council (TVBC) arranged for 27 free parking spaces at Crossfield Hall for patients, and Romsey Town FC agreed to give all staff and volunteers 15 free parking spaces at the club for the duration of the clinics.

The hospitality was also extended by the Romsey Town Burger Bar, offering free drinks and discounted food to staff, on production of valid ID.

This is continuing into the New Year as the vaccination program accelerates and more clinics are planned.

Club Secretary Alastair Bark said: "We are grateful of the support shown to the club this season by many local businesses and residents, especially in these challenging times.

"This was a perfect opportunity to give something back and support the community. We will continue to offer these facilities as long as the NHS staff need them."
