If you have recently lost your wedding ring, this is your chance to be reunited with it.

A plain golden band was found on January 2 in the lay-by opposite Romsey cemetery.

Resident Katie Beston noticed the wedding band on the floor when she got out of her car around 10.30am to walk her dog in the nearby park on Botley Road.

“It was a bitterly cold morning and your fingers shrink when it’s cold so I think someone took their gloves off and took their ring with it before getting in the car,” she said.

Due to the size of the ring which is very large, it is likely it belongs to a man.

“If I put it on it goes across two of my fingers,” Katie said.

Despite sharing appeals on social media to try to reunite the owner with their lost ring, no-one has come forward so far.

However, Katie remains determined to locate the owner.

“If it was just a ring or a bracelet I wouldn’t mind but it’s a wedding ring and because of where it was (near the cemetery) maybe they lost someone recently and it’s devastating if they then lost their wedding ring.”

The band has no engravings. Due to travel restrictions, it is believed it belongs to a local man as opposed to someone who travelled from further afield.
