A GROUP of people at a hot tub party in the back garden of a Hampshire address have been reported for breaching the coronavirus regulations.

One of the group reportedly claimed to police that they were "unaware of the global pandemic.

Officers from Gosport Police attended the property on the evening of Saturday, January 23.

A spokesperson for Gosport Police said: "Last night persons were reported for breaching COVID-19 regulations, after holding a hot tub party in the back garden.

"One occupant claimed they were unaware of the global pandemic, and he was almost arrested after refusing to provide his details!"

Residents on Facebook were shocked by this latest breach of the Covid rules.

One woman wrote: "Our arrogance as a nation keeps superseding us."

While another added: "A familiar excuse and one that won’t work now almost 12 months on. "

Hampshire Constabulary's neighbourhood teams have shared details on several Covid rulebreakers in recent days.

This included three men from the Isle of Wight travelling to the New Forest via Dorset to look at a second-hand car and people being found inside a tanning salon in Shirley, despite lockdown rules meaning the premises should have been close.
