A HUNT has been launched following a series of thefts from motor vehicles in Romsey at the weekend.

Officers were called after a handbag was stolen from a vehicle on St Blaize Road at around 1.48am on Friday (January 22).

Overnight, between Friday and Saturday 14 similar incidents were reported to the police in the Romsey Town and Romsey Extra areas.

The incidents are being treated as linked.

Hampshire police has made some enquiries and are now appealing to the public for help.

The force has released an image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the thefts.

He is described as being a white man, between 18 and 25-years-old, and wearing dark clothing with reflective trainers.

He was also with another man of the same description.

A police spokesperson said: "We appreciate the image isn’t very clear, but are hopeful someone may recognise his clothing.

"Do you recognise him? Perhaps you have other information that may assist in our enquiries?
