A WOMAN found dead in her home on Christmas Eve was found by a care assistant.

Michelle Lamb was found dead in Romsey flat in Chamber's Avenue on December 24, 2019.

An inquest was opened into to determine the cause of her death.

The 53-year-old, who previously lived in Andover, was a loving mum to Dillon and sister to Paul, Dave and Sidney.

Her funeral was held on January 15, 2020, at Test Valley Crematorium, Romsey, and her family asked for donations to Leonard Cheshire Disability.

Area coroner at Portsmouth Coroner's Court, Christopher Wilkinson, told the court that Ms Lamb had been found dead by a care assistant.

The assistant had let herself into Ms Lamb's flat on the morning of December 24. She had called out to Ms Lamb but she did not respond.

The carer searched her flat and found that Ms Lamb had fallen off of her sofa.

She rushed to Ms Lamb's aid but realized that she had already passed away, and called 999.

The assistant said she was left "upset and shaken".

A police officer arrived and confirmed that Ms Lamb had passed away.

The court heard how her family had tried to contact Ms Lamb on December 23 to discuss Christmas plans but we unable to get hold of her.

Ms Lamb suffered with epilepsy and cerebral palsy on the left side of her body, and she was taking Fluoxetine - a type of anti-depressant.

A postmortem revealed that Ms Lamb had a high alcohol level in her blood - more than twice the drink drive limit - and had a high toxicity level of Fluoxetine in her system.

The coroner ruled that Ms Lamb died of Fluoxetine toxicity.
