TWO adults who tried to fake their age to police have been reported for summons after they were caught breaking Covid rules in Romsey.
A 20-year-old man and 18-year-old woman were discovered in the War Memorial Park, The Meads, as part of a large group of young people.
Visitors to the park tipped off the force about the gathering.
When officers questioned the group, the young people all claimed to be below 18-years-old, but police took their details and issued warning letters.
However, police discovered the man and woman gave fake dates of birth to avoid being reported for summons in relation to a fixed penalty notice after breaching the current Health Protection Regulations.
Hampshire Constabulary was alerted to the group just after 4pm on Saturday (27 February).
In a tweet, Romsey police revealed they will continue to enforce "blatant breaches" of coronavirus restrictions.
The message reads: "The more we stick to the rules now, the sooner things will get better - and we will save lives."
Under the current lockdown rules, you cannot leave your home to meet socially with anyone you do not live with or are not in a support bubble with.
