CORONAVIRUS cases across Test Valley are continuing to fall as data shows that the spread of Covid-19 has slowed down.

An interactive map, which uses Public Health England data, shows how many people have tested positive for the virus in each part of the borough in the week up to Wednesday, March 3.

The map is divided into Middle Super Output Areas (MSOAs), which are areas with an average population of 7,200.

It then colour-codes MSOAs depending on their seven-day rolling infection rate, with areas placed into the boundaries of 0-9 (yellow), 10-49 (light green), 50-99 (dark green), 100-199 (light blue), 200-399 (dark blue), 400 to 799 (light purple) and 800 plus (dark purple).

In the seven days up to March 3, Test Valley reported 48 cases, meaning the infection rate is below average compared to the national average.

Nine areas have recorded fewer than three cases, meaning they have been classed as suppressed.

The Government does not show data for these places to protect individuals' identities.

However, there are still two places in the borough where cases are still rising.

These are:

  • Abbotswood & West Wellow (8 cases; +6 on the previous week; rolling rate of 94.2 cases per 100,000 people)
  • Chilbolton, Clatford & Barton Stacey (4 cases; +2 on the previous week; rolling rate of 76.0 cases per 100,000 people)
