Strictly star Craig Revel Horwood's home up for sale

The sprawling seven-bed property, which has just come on the market, is built in a farmhouse style and surrounded by 7.3 acres of private land with balcony views over the Test Valley.

“I’m very lucky to live here. I really love Hampshire, the people and the peace and quiet. It’s a wonderful big house and very secluded. That’s what sold me on it,” he explains.

He shares it with his partner Jonathan who he met when touring with Strictly.

Three years later, the couple are moving from the county to be closer to Jonathan’s family and plan to marry as soon as life unlocks.

“Lockdown gave me the opportunity to reflect on my life actually. We were having dinner one night and I suggested the move,” says Craig, who visits his family back home every year.

Built in 2008, the property has its own indoor gym, outdoor pool and separate self-contained annex.

And Craig’s made significant changes to the house in the seven years he’s lived there.

“I had the floors redone, the whole kitchen replaced, a professional catering kitchen added—and of course, there’s a bit of glitter, darling,” he adds. “It’s been well thought out for someone who needs to entertain.”

The house can accommodate up to 36 guests, which is ideal as they both have large families.

Craig also added an enormous glass conservatory to the back of the property with bi-folding doors that open all the way round. 

"It’s gorgeous in the summer and winter when it snows. You just open up the doors and feel like you’re in the garden,” he says. “Jonathan [a horticulturalist] created a forest grotto with outdoor lighting in the trees—it’s great fun. Just a fabulous house.”

As well as offering him peace and privacy away from the limelight, the location means he can easily commute into London when filming Strictly at weekends and is close to Southampton Theatre for panto season—which was sadly cancelled last season due to the pandemic, as was Craig’s one-man show that he was due to go on tour with.
