FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze that tore through dry woodland last night.
Woodlands off Bracken Road in North Baddesley burst into flames at around 7.30pm last night.
The large fire which affected a one hundred metre square area was brought under control using three jets and the help of an off-road vehicle.
Crews from St Mary's, Eastleigh and Redbridge Fire Stations attended with the stop message coming in shortly after 9pm.
According to Hampshire Fire Service, police did not attend, and the blaze spread due to very dry conditions.
A post on the St Mary's Fire Station Twitter page said: "Last night 54L1 was called to a small fire in the open in North Baddesley.
With the help of @Redbridge53 P7 and @Eastleigh32 P7, Land Rover and Carrier, the large fire was brought under control and extinguished."
