HAMPSHIRE residents still without water can collect emergency supplies from pickup points today.

More than 20,000 properties across the south of the county were left without water or suffered low pressure on Tuesday.

The crisis was caused a by a power cut affecting pumping equipment at a Southern Water treatment works in Otterbourne, near Southampton.

According to the utility company, some people may continue to experience low water pressure today as one of its storage reservoirs refills.

Residents still affected can get bottled water from collection points at East Winchester St Catherine’s park and ride, Places Leisure, Eastleigh or South Winchester park and ride.

However, there is a limit of ten litres per person.

A company spokesperson previously said: "We are liaising with authorities to introduce additional bottled water stations to support other customers and continue to deliver water to our vulnerable customers.

"Our teams worked around the clock to repair issues at our Otterbourne site after the stormy weather and power outages last night affected how we take water from the river.

"Customers may also have notice tankers in the area which are helping us keep people in supply wherever possible. "We apologise again and will continue to update on our social media channels as things progress."
