POLICE continue to search for a driver who was involved in a "hit and run" crash, which knocked a cyclist off their bike.

The collision happened on the A27 Botley Road, North Baddesley, between a Toyota Corolla and cyclist.

The driver of the car reportedly stopped beyond the traffic lights in Rownhams Road, got out of the car to check on the injured cyclist and then decided to drive away without stopping, according to a Facebook post from Test Valley Cops.

The cyclist suffered minor injuries following the crash, which happened on Friday (May 14) at around 10.50am.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident, the force confirmed.

Hampshire Constabulary said the Toyota is believed to be silver or light blue.

The vehicle is likely to have sustained damage to the passenger side wing mirror, after leaving debris at the scene.

Anyone who has seen a vehicle matching the description with fresh damage, should contact the force.

A spokesperson from Hampshire police said: "Officers continue to investigate what happened. No arrests have been made at this stage.

"Anyone with information that can assist us in our enquiries can call 101 or report it online, quoting reference number 44210185921."
