MORE than  170 new coronavirus cases have been recorded in Hampshire in 24 hours.

Public Health England figures - as recorded on the Government website at 4.23pm today - show that 172 more people have tested positive for the virus in a 24 hour period.

Across the county, there has been a total of 96,020 positive tests since the start of the pandemic in March 2020 - around 6.97 per cent of the county's population.

Below are the confirmed cases by local authority on June 20:

  • Basingstoke and Deane: 15 (8,508 in total since start of pandemic)
  • East Hampshire: 7 (5,027)
  • Eastleigh: 11 (6,008)
  • Fareham: 4 (5,359)
  • Gosport: 2 (3,954)
  • Hart: 8 (4,575)
  • Havant: 5 (7,215)
  • New Forest: 9 (6,344)
  • Portsmouth: 35 (14,804)
  • Rushmoor: 12 (8,013)
  • Southampton: 41 (15,517)
  • Test Valley: 13 (5,629)
  • Winchester: 10 (5,067).
  • Winchester district the number of deaths remains at 178, with no deaths reported for 110 days. In the seven days to Tuesday June 15 there were 35 reported cases of Covid, an increase on the previous seven days of 11, or 46 per cent.; the number per 100,000 people is 28.0. The area with the highest rolling number is South Wonston, Sutton Scotney and Micheldever with 68.1, close to the national average.
