A MAN living in care died after being pushed from his chair by another resident.
Ian Matley, 82, was living at Knights' Grove Care Home in Thomas Road, North Baddesley.
Reading from a report, senior coroner Chris Wilkinson said that Mr Matley was pushed from his chair by another resident.
Danni Davies, regional director for the care home, said: “This was a very sad and isolated incident. Mr Matley was a popular resident and our thoughts are with his family.”
He suffered a subdural haematoma (bleed between the skull and the surface of the brain) and his family decided on June 6 that he be placed on palliative care.
Mr Matley, who also suffered from Alzheimer's, was pronounced dead at Southampton General Hospital on June 9.
The full inquest has been adjourned to February 1 2022, to be heard in Winchester.
