SIR:I wonder if anyone else has noticed the similarities between Silver Hill and Riverside Park. Neither have comprehensive development plans, and certainly one of them, Silver Hill, seems to have become stuck in the indecision lane. The consultation for Riverside Park is a beginning, but it rather desperately needs a comprehensive plan linking it to its surrounds, and then needs to come up with a workable development that is actually begun and carried out.

As for Silver Hill, which has largely sat for 20 years, please, councillors and officers, start with what you can manage - look seriously at Kim Gottlieb's plan for Kings Walk, do the necessary archaeology, demolish the old Friarsgate Surgery, restore Lower Brook and create a simple easy path along it to connect up to the Broadway. Follow the SDP, use what you can of the JTL plan for the area, and developers will come to take on building the various parts, once they see you are in earnest - and I don't mean Henderson's as a single developer just in case various councillors are still enamoured of them. Just a simple beginning will be enough!
