THE AWARD winning Gentlemen of St John’s College Choir, Cambridge is making its return for a fundraising concert at Romsey Abbey next week.

Often heard on Radio 3 the 18 - 24-year-old vocalists are mostly studying Music as a degree and one of the members was a boy treble in the Romsey Choir some years ago.

Martin Seymour, director of music at Romsey Abbey, said: “I am delighted that the Friends of Romsey Abbey Music could restart their fund-raising concerts with the gents who had been so popular last time with their Romsey audience.

Louis Watkins, music director of the Gentleman’s Choir said: “I am delighted to be returning to Romsey Abbey which had been so welcoming to them last time.”

The concert take place on Friday September 18 at 7.30pm and will consist of sacred masterpieces and lighter contemporary classics.
