Members of the Romsey Twinning group held an informal gathering last week on Thursday September 9 in the Memorial Park.
Members braved the odd shower for the chance to see familiar faces again in person after a long 18 months of lock downs.
As with so many organisations Romsey Twinning’s activities have been put on hold since the pandemic.
Although the association has been able to maintain some contact with its twin towns on the continent through the internet and social media, exchange visits have not been possible for the past two years.
Organisers are now optimistic whilst practicing caution, that these visits can resume in the course of 2022.
Julie Brinton, a member of Romsey Twinning said: “It was so good to be meeting with other twinners again in person. I'm looking forward to the next step now when we can meet up with friends from our twin towns, and we hope this will be possible next year."
