A LOCAL children’s theme park is up against the UK’s biggest attractions for a national award.

Paulton’s Park has been nominated for the Theme Park of the Year Award, the category which recognises best attractions, best rides, best customer service and more.

The public votes have been combined along with those of an expert panel of judges to determine the winners in each of the 21 categories of the competition.

The judges of the competition include Justin Garvanovic, editor of First Drop, Mark Locker, founder & CEO of Attractions.io and Andy Hine MBE, chairman of the Roller Coaster Club of Great Britain.

Major contenders for awards include Alton Towers, Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventures and LEGOLAND.

Amongst the main list of categories, theme park fans can also win awards for Blogger of the Year, YouTuber of the Year and Instagrammer of the Year.

The winners in all 21 categories will be revealed at 8pm on Tuesday September 21 at youtube.com/themeparksuk
