Harry Northover was caught more than four and a half times the legal drink drive limit in the street he lives.
The 27-year-old failed to stop his grey Range Rover Sport for a police officer on August 26 this year.
When he was breathalysed in Carter's Clay Road, where he lives, he gave a reading of 162mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath - the legal limit is just 35mg.
Appearing before Southampton Magistrates' Court, he was charged with drink driving and failing to stop - to which he pleaded guilty.
He was jailed for 16 weeks, suspended for 18 months. He must do 18-months of alcohol treatment and five rehabilitation days. He was disqualified for three years and must pay £85 court costs and a £128 victim surcharge.
