A choir based in Romsey raised funds for a hospital charity in their first live concert in 18 months.

Romsey Male Voice Choir raised a total of £1000 for Southampton Hospitals Charity at their first live concert in Romsey Abbey following a Covid-enforced break of 18 months.

Romsey Male Voice Choir chairman, Kevin Cleary, said: “This past 18 months has been so hard for the NHS and the need to help is not over yet.

“That’s why all of our choristers were keen to put on the best concert we could to raise as much money as possible for a great cause.

“It’s so good to be back singing, but even better to be back helping such an important charity.”

Romsey Male Voice Choir and guest choir Notability, from Manchester, will be in concert on October 23 in the Abbey United Reformed Church in Romsey in aid of the Romsey Food Bank.

Tickets are available from the Romsey Visitor Information Centre 01794 512987. For more information about the choir, visit: www.romseymvc.co.uk.
