Calling all stargazers, you do not want to miss tonight's Draconid meteor shower.
The shower began yesterday (October 7) and will continue through the weekend into Monday (October 11).
For those hoping to catch it, the peak spotting time is tonight or tomorrow.
The Draconids, named after the constellation of Draco the dragon, happens every year as a result of the from the comet 21 P/ Giacobini-Zinner.
Where can I see the Draconid shower in Southampton?
According to the Met Office, people in Romsey have a pretty good chance of seeing it tonight.
The Draconids are best seen in the evening after night fall.
The time of tonight's sun set is 18:30.
There is a high chance of cloud throughout the day but they look set to part by the afternoon.
The best way to spot the meteor shower
If you want the best the best chance of spotting the shower, find somewhere with dark skies.
The Met Office says to consider looking for a spot with an unobstructed horizon.
You should also avoid any direct sources of light to the eyes.
And as tempting as it is to play expert stargazer, there is no advantage to using binoculars or a telescope.
