A NEW community cinema launches in Kings Somborne on Thursday October 14.

Somborne Community Cinema is run by volunteers, all local cinema enthusiasts, and takes advantage of the impressive new audio-visual system in King's Somborne village hall.

A diverse range of films will be screened on the second Thursday of each month at the hall, on the Recreation Ground, Romsey Road.

Doors will open at 7.15pm and films start at 8pm. Before the film there will be a bar serving beer, wine, soft drinks and snacks.

Tickets cost £6 (this includes a booking fee) and are available from the cinema’s website at www.sombornecommunitycinema.co.uk.

Cinemagoers can also sign-up on the website to receive the cinema’s email newsletter.

Tickets are now on sale for the following films:

Thursday October 14

Rocketman (2019): Directed by Dexter Fletcher, itstars Taron Egerton and Jamie Bell and is musical drama based on the human story of Elton John's breakthrough years.

Thursday November 11

Nobody (2021): Directed by Ilya Naishuller and stars Bob Odenkirk, Aleksey Serebryakov, Connie Nielsen and Christopher Lloyd. Bob Odenkirk shines in this violent (and funny) action movie about an unassuming family man - who turns out to be nothing of the sort.

Thursday December 9

Belle (2013): Directed by Amma Asante, it stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Matthew Goode and Emily Watson. This British period drama boasts sumptuous visuals along with some stirring performances. The story has a strong social consciousness which is still very relevant today.
