When somebody is struggling in challenging circumstances with limited resources then of course you want to support and encourage them and help if possible, not shout and abuse them.
Unfortunately many overstretched GPs and NHS workers trying hard to keep key services functioning have to endure such nonsense. Numbers of GPs (low) and patients (high) being what they are, it is not possible to provide prompt face-to-face appointments for everybody, and online and phone consultations – which many have found very efficient and helpful – are used instead.
The NHS has acute staff shortages which will take some years to remedy, so meanwhile let us applaud those who valiantly keep the flag flying for us and be vigilant to oppose any new measures that open the door wider to privatisation.
