A SOUTHAMPTON man has been banned from the road for drug driving and possession of cannabis.
Jammoy Bent, 30, of Oakley Road, Millbrook, was in a 21-reg BMW 318 when stopped by officers on the M3 near Farnborough on May 6, a court heard,
Bent was tested for cannabis and returned a reading of 2.6 micrograms when the legal limit is 2mg. He pleaded guilty.
Magistrates in Basingstoke banned him from driving for 12 months, fined him £120 and ordered he pay £40 costs and a £34 victim surcharge.
He also admitted possession of cannabis and was fined £80.
Bent also appeared in court for the non-payment of a fine imposed on July 27. The fine of £1,936 was reduced to £528, a cut of £1,408 because of a "change in circumstances", the court record said. No further detail was given. He has been ordered to pay the £528 by November 19.
