A CHILDREN'S author visited a local primary school to open its new library.
Rownhams St Johns CE Primary School welcomed Simon Chadwick, author and illustrator of many children’s books, officially open the new Key Stage 1 library late last month.
The library was installed in the summer holidays and the children have been using it, but the school said it deserved a grand opening.
A school spokesperson said: "It is a great space for younger readers and who have really been enjoying and exploring the range of new books available to them. It with thanks to the PTA for funding new books to help fill the shelves."
One lucky group of children were treated to a story from Simon himself when he came to open our library .
Also in attendance was parent governors, Emma Witch, and new Chair of the PTA, Kelly Harris. After the opening, Simon went on to inspire our children with special workshops and signed books.
