A HAMPSHIRE church situated in a conservation area has drawn up plans for a thatched and timber gateway to the churchyard.
The Grade II-listed St Mary's Church in Romsey Road, Copythorne, has submitted its proposals to the New Forest National Park Authority.
It relates to an access point from the adjoining Stanley's Own car park.
The application says: "The structure will be modest in size, with a curved roof designed to mirror the branch structure of oak tree adjacent.
"The proposal will improve access to the church from the car park for pedestrians and wheelchair users.
"The addition of this thatched entrance will create a more attractive and welcoming approach to the church and graveyard."
