A TEENAGER from Fordingbridge has been arrested.
Officers who were responding to a burglary in progress in Ringwood, arrested a 15 year old boy on suspicion of burglary offences and assaulting an emergency worker.
It comes after police received a report of a burglary at a business premises on Southampton Road between 9pm and 9.45pm yesterday evening (January 9).
A window had been smashed to gain entry and a quantity of cash was stolen.
A spokesperson for the police said: "CCTV operators located a person acting suspiciously in the local area and upon police attendance the boy was detained.
"Upon being searched, officers seized a quantity of cash and a number of tools including a screwdriver and a utility knife.
"A 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of burglary and assaulting an emergency worker.
"He remains in custody at this time."
