A spokesperson said: "We’re searching for people who can combine a passion to protect and help our communities, with the drive to learn and use lifesaving skills. You’ll be looking for new challenges and the chance to put your training into action.

One day you’ll be responding to 999 calls and the next you’ll be working across our communities to help everyone understand how to keep themselves safe.

"We’re recruiting our next generation of firefighters in January 2022. Will you make the cut?"

During the application process, there are several tests applicants must pass. An element of these is the fitness tests.

Those with questions about the fitness tests can visit the authority's website and watch the guidance videos, or send an email to wholetime.recruitment@hantsfire.gov.uk.

From January 18, applications can be submitted on the same website.
