ACCOUNTANCY firm HWB has appointed long-serving Andrew Kershaw as a director of the firm.

Andrew, who has 20 years’ career experience in accountancy, was promoted from associate director at the busines in Chandler's Ford .

He trained with Smith Acreman in Southampton, joining HWB in 2004 when the two firms merged.

Andrew, who is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, becomes HWB’s 10th director.

He acts for small and medium-sized entities and his specialisms include creative agencies, property and the healthcare sector, particularly dentists.

In recent years Andrew has headed HWB’s online accounting programme, helping businesses’ transition to online software such as Xero or FreeAgent to help manage their finances as efficiently as possible and to comply with the Government’s Making Tax Digital regulations.

Andrew also advises many start-ups and has produced a number of instructional videos to help new businesses in their early stages.

HWB managing director Geoff Rhodes said: “This well-deserved appointment as director recognises Andrew’s dedication, professionalism and hard work on behalf of the firm and I congratulate him on his achievement."
