A MAN has died following a boat race in the Solent this weekend.
Emergency services raced to Milford on Sea on Saturday afternoon.
Rescue teams pulled a 45-year-old man from the water after his single-handed dingy got into trouble.
The man, originally from Hull, had been taking part in the BFA Finn Masters race at Keyhaven Yacht Club.
A Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance crew were scrambled as part of the operation.
The man was treated at the scene but later pronounced dead by a doctor.
Police officers were called at around 2.45pm with emergency services staying on the scene until around 6pm.
The death is not being treated as suspicious, however, an investigation is now underway.
The Daily Echo has contacted Keyhaven Yacht Club for comment.
