SOUTH Wonston Community Café has raised £610 in aid of the BOAZ project.

Some £485 was raised through sales of coffee and cake, with the remaining £125 coming from the sales from the BOAZ stall, run by café volunteer Barbara Harvey with Sally Ratcliffe, another BOAZ volunteer.

The next community café will take place at the Victoria Hall, Sutton Scotney, from 9.30am to 12noon on Wednesday, April 19. The café will be in aid of Muscular Dystrophy.

The café offers a range of cakes, tea and coffee. The café is cash only.

THE First-Sunday-in-the-Month walk is returning on Sunday, April 2. Starting at 10.30am at the Warren Centre Car Park, Micheldever Station, the short circular walk will cover two miles and will return to the car park at approximately 12noon.

Dogs are welcome, but will need to be kept on a lead. Donations are voluntary.

MICHELDEVER Variety Group has announced the return of Play in a Week, running from April 3 to April 7, 10am to 4pm at Northbrook Hall. The programme, aimed at children aged 8 to 12, allows kids to put on a play in the space of a week, with a performance on the last day at 7pm.

THE Half Moon and Spread Eagle in Micheldever is hosting an Earthquake Appeal for Syria and Turkey. The appeal will take place on Saturday, April 1 from 10am onwards in the pub’s garden.

Turkish chefs will be providing a large tabletop sale of Turkish delicacies. All of the money raised will go to humanitarian relief. Homemade cakes will also be welcomed to increase sales. The appeal is being sponsored by The Half Moon and Spread Eagle, Pole to Pole Marquees and Dever Printing.

SOUTH Wonston Parish Council will host a meeting of its Climate Café at South Wonston Pavilion on Sunday, April 2.

The café runs from 11am until 1pm. The meeting will tell attendees about biodiversity and ways they can bring more wildflowers into their lives.

The climate café will also feature a talk from Hampshire Swift expert Tim Norris at 11.30am, with a chance to get Swift boxes for your own home. This will be followed by a talk from local enthusiast Martin Fowler at 12.30am on bats, including his survey of the local bat population.

The event is free and open to everyone.

MICHELDEVER Station has announced a Picnic in The Park event to celebrate The Coronation. The event is expected to take place at 11.30am on Monday, May 8 at Warren Field.

SOUTH Wonston Parish Council has announced that it will be holding a community event to celebrate the King’s Coronation. The event will take place at The Pavilion and recreation ground on May 7.
