The article in your paper last week stated that the judge who refused the Friends of River Park to have a judicial review was influenced by the city council stating that it would behave correctly in the future.

This acknowledges that it behaved wrongly in the past.

The land is held in trust for the people of Winchester and if councillors feel that they can ignore this then, as council elections are coming up, it is surely an opportunity for voters to make a stand on this important issue and vote against, regardless of their political views, the Liberal councillors who control the city council and are responsible for this decision.

The issue of trust is more important than local politics.
