THE Kings Worthy Rangers is running a tabletop sale on Saturday, November 4, to raise money to save the Girlguiding and activity centre Foxlease.

The event will be open at St Mary’s Chapel Hall from 2pm to 4.30pm with free entry. Anyone who would like a table should contact Louisa Bond at downsrangers@gmail.com.

Tables cost £10. Teas, coffees and refreshments will be available.

THE Martyr Worthy Lecture Series is back for the new season. Beginning on Tuesday, November 28 with author and historian, Jessie Childs, who will talk about her book The Siege of Loyalty House, a new history of the English Civil War, through the story of the siege of Basing House from 1643-45.

The series, sponsored by Savills, is in aid of the four churches of the Itchen Valley Parish. Events start at 6.30pm in Itchen Abbas and Avington Village Hall for drinks and canapes before lectures commence at 7.15pm.

THE Worthy Players is reviving its first-ever pantomime in celebration of the society’s 50th anniversary year.

Dick Whittington will be on stage at the Jubilee Hall in Kings Worthy at 7.30pm on December 1, 2, 8 and 9, with an additional matinee at 2.30 on Saturday, December 2.

Doors open 30 minutes before the show starts along with the bar. Tickets cost £10 for adults and £8 for seniors, children and students.

MUSICAL sessions for children under five will be returning to Littleton Memorial Hall in November.

Moo Music begins on Wednesday, November 1, with weekly sessions 9.30am to 10.10am and 10.40am to 11.30am.

ROYAL British Legion volunteers will be collecting donations for the Poppy Appeal at Littleton Recreation Ground Car Park on Saturday, October 28 from 9am – 4pm. The parish council is hoping people will give their support to help the armed forces community. Cash or card will be accepted.

CRAWLEY residents have been warned to keep their valuables safe following 14 overnight breaks ins to cars in just five nights in surrounding villages, including vehicles parked on roads and in driveways.

THE Plough Inn will be home to Sparsholt’s fireworks display this year on Saturday, November 4. Festivities begin at 6.30pm including competitions, food and drinks and a bonfire before the fireworks at 7.15pm.

Tickets can be purchased for £5 ahead of the day from the pub or village shop or for £7 on the day.

RESIDENTS in Sparsholt are being told to save the date for the Christmas Market and tree delivery day. The event will be open on Sunday, December 10 from 10am-2pm. More information will be shared nearer the time.

THE Autumn ‘Tell Me Tuesday Talks’ at Sparsholt School continue with ‘The Army Corps Marching Band’ on Tuesday, October 31 and ‘Outstanding Orchids’ on Tuesday, November 21.

Other talks to watch out for that are yet to have dates confirmed are ‘Archaeological Antics’ and ‘Imagination and Dreams’.

Talks start at 2.45pm with parents and members of the school community welcome to join.
