TUTUS and pirouettes mixed with a bit of sparkle and shine wowed audiences packed with proud parents.

Hundreds of dance school pupils aged between six months and 13 years took to the stage across three packed shows, a success after months of training.

Starz Ballet's Sparkle & Shine show took place on Sunday, November 19 at Thornden Hall in Eastleigh

Children took part from classes which take place in The Westgate School in Winchester, Ganger Farm Sports Park and Romsey Primary School, as well as locations in Chandlers Ford, Locks Heath, Sarisbury, West End, Whiteley and across Hampshire.

Cheryl Dodd, who runs the school, said: "It was magical. The children were all so excited. There was a mix of feelings - excitement, nerves and pride when they finished. They are all buzzing about the show.

"The parents and grandparents who came to watch were so proud. They were in awe of the children and what they had achieved. It was amazing and so lovely to see."

Cheryl said the shows are popular among her classes as they are a great way to boost confidence. She said there was 'no pressure' to take part, and that every child was supported through the performances.

She said: "All the children are still buzzing about it now, they are all coming into classes wearing their T-shirts and talking about it. All everyone keeps asking me is - when is the next one?"

The dance school puts on two shows per year, one in November and one in April.

The next show is booked for April 21 and 28 at the Thornden Hall, Eastleigh.
