EIGHTEEN gold awards have been presented to nine Hampshire Fare producers at this year's national Great Taste Awards for their food and drink products.
It included three producers receiving the coveted three star gold award for their exceptional products.
Hampshire products presented with gold awards included organic French trimmed rack of pork, buffalo burgers and organic ale from Laverstoke Park, Overton, which received a total of five golds; Old Winchester cheese from Lyburn Farmhouse Cheesemakers, Landford; Watercress pesto made with Hampshire watercress and English parmesan' from Cresson Creative, Alresford, and strawberry ice cream, original milk ice cream and roasted almond ice cream, from Jude's Ices, in Easton.
Widely regarded as the Oscars' of the fine food world, the Great Taste Awards recognise and reward the exceptional standard of food and drink available in the UK.
Every entry is blind tasted by teams of experts and by the time it earns gold, it has been assessed by at least three different teams.
Tim Brock, Hampshire Fare manager, said: "The Great Taste Awards are a huge accolade for the winners, and just shows that Hampshire food and drink is of exceptional standard and has great appeal."
