The National Trust team at Mompesson House is celebrating nature this spring with the Festival of Blossom.

The festival, which runs until June 4, is supported by players of People’s Postcode Lottery.  With a baseline of accessibility for those with special educational needs and dementia, the festival is designed to make everyone feel welcome in nature.

You can pick up a free blossom activity trail and map from Mompesson and go on a sensory walk around Salisbury’s Cathedral Close.

The map guides you to some of the blossom trees of the Cathedral Close with optional activities to explore.

The trail activities have been designed to be accommodating for those with SEND and dementia but can be enjoyed by everyone.

The free maps will be available at the entrance of Mompesson House as well as Salisbury Cathedral and the Tourist Information Centre.

Jenny Grene, Visitor Experience Officer, said: ‘We want to help everyone to feel welcome not just at Mompesson House, but in our wider community as well. We hope that the Festival of Blossom will give people the chance to enjoy nature on their doorsteps.’

From March 29 to April 9 Mompesson’s Dining Room will also be decorated for spring. Free daffodil posy-making will be available with entry on selected days over the Easter weekend.

Throughout the Festival of Blossom there will be lots of free activities and workshops at Mompesson (standard entry fee or National Trust membership card required for entry).
