MORE than £250 was raised at a coffee morning by members and friends of a Winchester club.

The Winchester and District branch of the Inner Wheel, an international women's organisation, met on Friday, April 19 at Rick Stein on Winchester's High Street.

The women were raising funds for Ellern Mede Eating Disorder Treatment Clinic to help pay for a sensory garden to provide respite for visiting family of patients.

The coffee morning saw dozens of people turn up to show their support, including many members of Winchester Rotary Club.

Inner Wheel president Sonia Carver thanked everyone for attending and for donating.

She said: "We are also extremely grateful to Rick Stein. They were so generous with their coffee, cake and staff's time. We did quite well to raise more than £250."

The Inner Wheel Winchester meets on the second and fourth Monday on the month at Winchester Racquets and Fitness Club, Bereweeke Road.

Members enjoy friendship, as well as social events and meetings with a speaker. They fundraise for chosen home and international charities.
