The Compton10k and fete returns for a third time in the middle of May.

On Sunday, May 19, the 10k run and fete will delight locals and running fans. Organised by Compton School Association (CSA), there will once again be a multi-terrain 10km run followed by a community fete.

There is still time to enter the run. The run is chip-timed and all finishers will receive a wooden medal.

Entry to the fete is free and will take place in the grounds of Compton All Saints' Primary School. The fete will be supported by live music, traditional fete games and activities, stalls and refreshments as well as a licensed bar and barbeque.

Organised entirely by volunteers, all profits from the 10k run and fete are used to support the school. Funds raised from the 2022 and 2023 events have been used to buy iPads and Chromebooks, as well as replace and update sports equipment.

Speaking on behalf of Compton All Saints’ Primary School, headteacher David Ware said: “The Compton 10k is a fantastic event that helps bring the whole community together.

"There’s a real buzz about our summer fete which provided the perfect place for the runners to go after finishing. With school budgets becoming ever tighter, events like these go a long way to help provide our children with the resources they need to access the curriculum.

"I want to say a big thank you to everyone who has taken part, and I hope to see you at the start line this year too.”

The run starts at 11am, with the fete running from 11.30am to 3pm on Sunday, May 19. For more information, including details on how to enter, visit compton10k.co.uk.
