SIR — I was unfortunate enough to be in the McGill Ward at the county hospital over Christmas.
However, it was made a wonderfully happy experience by the kindness of the hardworking, caring nurses.
The lunch was outstanding; turkey and chipolatas etc; Christmas pud; mince pie and a glass of sparkling (non-alcoholic) wine.
Alas, perfection was missed by the lack of mistletoe!
