A QUANTITY of powerful prescription drugs was stolen from a car parked at a Bramshaw beauty spot.

The 50 dihydrocodeine painkiller tablets were taken, along with a Sony digital camera, an iPod and other property, from a BMW left at the Half Moon Common car park on Monday afternoon.

Police say the missing pills could be harmful if swallowed by small children or animals.

They believe the thief or thieves may have thrown the tablets away and they are warning parents to keep an eye on what their children pick up when walking in the area.

Anyone who has information about the crime or finds the missing property is asked to contact Lyndhurst police on 0845045 4545 or Southern Crimestoppers on 0800-555-111.
