AN APPLICATION has been submitted to allow for a small unit in the town centre to have more varied use.
Nigel Young owns a unit next to The George, in George Yard, which has been pigeonholed by a restriction that it must only be used for the cutting and sale of keys, locks and security devices.
But Mr Young is appealing to Test Valley Borough Council (TVBC) to remove the condition and allow for general retail use.
In the plan, Mr Young states: “The building has been used as a retail shop in various guises since the permission was granted and it is not considered that any harm or adverse effect would arise if this were to be granted.”
To view the application, go to TVBC’s planning website and search 18/02595/VARN.
