VOLUNTEERS were celebrated at the yearly meeting of a community services charity.
Groups across Test Valley joined Unity for its annual general meeting, volunteer awards and conference which were held at the Grosvenor Hotel, Stockbridge.
Test Valley mayor, Councillor Ian Carr, and mayoress Beryl Carr, who were in attendance, heard about the work of just a few of the volunteers and the groups who make significant contributions to the community, and to those who need it the most.
The awards were presented by Unity trustee, David Harber, and were in three categories.
The Unsung Hero Award was won by James Ropner, pictured receiving the award, who volunteers with Inclusion services.
Taking home the award for Team of the Year was the Andover Allotment volunteers, and the Volunteer of the Year Award was presented to Derek Johnson from the BOAZ Project. Derek has been a volunteer for over seven years and works extensively on the farm-based project that helps adults with learning disabilities.
