SANTAS and their four-legged friends took to the fields as more than 180 people turned out for a village’s festivities.

The Appleshaw Santa Dash was back for a third year on Sunday, with Christmas music playing from a fairground organ, hot drinks, mince pies and more to kick off the 3km run.

Funds raised this year will be split between the British Heart Foundation and children’s charity Piggles Trust, but the final total is yet to be announced.

Santas were also seen at Thruxton race circuit for an inaugural run in aid of Enham Trust on Sunday, as well as Santas resorting to glo-golfing and bowling instead of running for Valley Leisure’s annual event in Andover, also on Sunday.
