A BRIDGE Street boutique has once again been crowned the winner of Andover’s Christmas window competition.

Mayor of Test Valley Councillor Ian Carr was joined by councillors David Drew, Iris Andersen and Len Gates, along with town centre manager Gemma Thompson, to judge the 2018 Andover Town Centre Partnership Festive Window Competition.

Despite a record number of businesses taking part and a “very high standard” of designs, judges unanimously agreed Mooch was the worthy winner.

Georgina Roberts, of Mooch, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have won the Andover Town Centre Partnership Christmas Window Competition. Thank you to our talented assistant Vicky Coulson for creating such a wonderful display. We know that the children, and adults, of Andover have enjoyed looking at our window display from the ‘ahhs’ and ‘oohs’ we hear.

“This year we are donating the prize of £50 to Rosie’s Northern Lights Trip for a very brave young lady who is undergoing a second round of chemotherapy for a brain tumour. We are going to match the winnings and will also donate money raised from selling off our window toadstool houses after Christmas as we would like to make this Christmas very special for her.”

The judges were also impressed with Jim’s Barbers, Craft Spot and Mailboxes who were awarded as joint runners-up.

Cllr Carr said: “It was lovely to see so many beautiful window displays adding to the festive feel of the town, although this did make the judging a real challenge. Well done to everyone who took part and congratulations to those highly commended and the winner.”

And centre manager Gemma Thompson gave her thanks to all the businesses who took part to make the town centre “look so festive”, and passed her congratulations onto Mooch for its “stylish and eye-catching design”.
