THE archdeacon for the army and a retired architect living in Andover are amongst the new entries in to Who’s Who.

The latest edition of the reference book details the most prominent people in the country, and contains more than 34,000 autobiographical details of those referred to as the “most influential people in the world”.

Listing in the book, pictured right, is by invitation only and to be included is regarded as an honour.

The new entries include Andover-based the Venerable Clinton Langston, who is stationed at the Army Headquarters at Marlborough Lines.

In 2017 the 56-year-old was anointed new archdeacon to the army by the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby at Lambeth Palace, London, and since then he has also served as the chaplain general.

Within the book, Venerable Langston lists his recreations as walking, dancing, golf, coaching and cooking.

One of the oldest new entries in the 2019 edition is 92-year-old Lord Churchill, who lives in Redenham, Andover.

The retired architect succeeded to the Churchill title in 2017.

In Lord Churchill’s Who’s Who entry he lists his recreations as parachuting, driving, drawing and painting.

The two men are amongst the 700 new names which are included in the 2019 edition of the book, published on December 3.

They have also joined the likes of Pope Francis, US president Donald Trump and Russian leader, Vladimir Putin, who are already in Who’s Who.

The Andover pair will now remain in Who’s Who until they die, when they will be automatically transferred to Who’s Who’s sister publication,Who Was Who.

Who’s Who 2019 is the 171st edition of what is one of the world’s longest established and most comprehensive general reference books in which entrants write about themselves.
