AN ANDOVER woman has been prosecuted after admitting to dumping a double bed, mattress and other waste out on the street.
Nicola Taylor, of Lock Square, pleaded guilty at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on March 28 to illegally depositing her waste in Cricketers Way on around October 15, 2018.
Following an investigation by Test Valley Borough Council, Taylor was ordered to pay £896 in costs, £30 victim surcharge and a £300 fine.
As well as the bed and mattress, a box full of books, canvas paintings and a blow up bed were also dumped on the street.
An environmental services spokesperson said: “Fly-tipping is not acceptable and I am pleased that, thanks to a thorough investigation, we were able to hold the relevant person to account.
“There are many ways to dispose of your waste and we will always offer help and advice where we can to anyone who has a question about their rubbish. Please, dispose of your waste legally and responsibly. Otherwise, we will seek to prosecute with sufficient evidence.”
